About

about2 In 1998, an energetic 6-year-old ran around with a camera taking pictures at her mom’s birthday party. This same girl posed and photographed her dolls and little brothers to her endless amusement. Upon entering high school, the girl discovered that people could actually be professional photographers, and was completely ecstatic!

Get it yet? Yeah, that little girl is me. I am Hannah Rae and can best be described by my grandmother’s words: a flower child with a rock & roll soul. I am a music-loving, rain-dancing tea-drinker who will cry at your wedding. I love the taste of berries and smell of old books.

I am a portrait and event photographer who loves capturing moments that my clients will look back on – maybe to remember a child who is now grown up, or an event they can’t remember the details of because everything was such a happy blur.

My favorite part of taking pictures is sneaking the in-between moments that can show in an instant the incredible love people feel for one another. I think everyone is beautiful in his or her own way, and strive to bring that beauty out in my photos. Shooting portraits outside is sort of my bread and butter that I much prefer over cheesy studio backdrops. I am a forever fan of natural light, and love the comfort and simplicity nature provides that always seems to light people up.

I am based in Boston, Massachusetts, but am always up for the opportunity to travel! I have my BA in Studio Art from CSU Channel Islands, as well as my AA in Fine Art Photography and Vocational Certificate of Achievement in Fine Art Photography from College of the Canyons, and have been photographing people’s happiness professionally since 2010.

Check out my work and shoot me an email, let’s grab a coffee or a glass of wine and talk about those photos you want!
